Increasingly‚ young coaches are telling their agents they want to go abroad to forge careers‚ but those opportunities are exceedingly rare and rarer still in Europe's elite leagues. In Paris‚ however‚ Liam Rosenior is quietly reconstructing a reputation shredded by a torrid 106 days in charge of Chelsea.
Paris FC manager Liam Rosenior's exuberant post-match celebrations against former side Strasbourg incited a scuffle between the coach and Strasbourg players. Rosenior's Paris FC beat Strasbourg 2-1 at home on Saturday. The English coach‚ who spent 18 months at Strasbourg prior to joining Chelsea last year‚ could be seen pointing his finger‚ slapping his chest and raising his arms towards the travelling fans after the final whistle. Within moments‚ Strasbourg players walked over to confront Rosenior before members of the Paris FC squad sprinted over to lend support to their manager. A shoving match between the two sets of players ensued‚ with Rosenior in the middle of the fracas.
The incident took place in Avenue Montaigne‚ one of Paris' most famous and luxurious streets‚ with Donnarumma and his partner asleep at the time.
FRANCE 3-1 SENEGAL - RIATH AL-SAMARRAI IN NEW JERSEY: For all the phoney petitions and haters from Paris to Madrid‚ there is just one trifling problem: even on his bad days‚ no one changes the course of a World Cup match quite like Kylian Mbappe. And for that reason‚ France are up and running. Unlike Spain‚ Brazil‚ Belgium and the Netherlands‚ there was no slip here. No points dropped.
PSG forward Ousmane Dembele has beaten team-mate Vitinha and Marseille winger Mason Greenwood to be crowned Ligue 1 Player of the Year‚ despite his severe lack of game time in the division. Dembele‚ who won the Ballon d'Or last year‚ has only started nine games in the French top flight this campaign‚ scoring 10 goals and providing six assists‚ with the attacker saving his best performances for the Champions League. In spite of his low numbers‚ the 28-year-old still did enough in the eyes of his colleagues to retain his title at the UNFP Trophies ceremony in Paris on Monday evening.
IAN LADYMAN AT ANFIELD: So now we know that there is another side to the champions of Europe. PSG of France can defend‚ too. Here at a rain-soaked but utterly engrossed Anfield‚ Luis Enrique's side really had to as Liverpool finally turned up for their manager Arne Slot. After what was pretty much a 2-0 hiding in Paris last week‚ Liverpool scared the life out of PSG here.
Paul Pogba insists he 'feels great' and vowed to help Monaco until the end of the season after ending a four-month spell on the treatment table. Pogba came on for the final 21 minutes of Monaco's 4-1 defeat by Paris FC on Friday night‚ earning his first minutes on the pitch since December. The 33-year-old‚ who came on with Monaco already trailing 3-1‚ was given a warm ovation by both sets of supporters when he came off the bench.
IAN LADYMAN: The sight of the greatest forward player in Liverpool's history sitting for 95 minutes on the bench in France last night was sobering and served yet again to remind us just how far he has fallen as the end nears. Mohamed Salah was among the worst in red as his team lost 4-0 at the Etihad on Saturday but was still left on the field for all-but the final 14 minutes. It was clear that the great Egyptian was never going to play in Paris.
