City and their fans‚ despite an almost-certain appeal‚ are nervously awaiting punishment after they were found guilty on the vast majority of their 115 charges around financial irregularities against the Premier League. Former Premier League star Akos Buzsaky has admitted he had been 'overwhelmed' by 'significant changes in his life' as he confirmed he is safe after being reported missing. The 44-year-old‚ who played for QPR in the English top flight‚ had been missing from Budapest since August 18. Police in Hungary had launched a search‚ while his former clubs had expressed their concern over his wellbeing.
LEWIS STEELE: Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have officially sold around a third of the club to a consortium of billionaires. It is a mega-money deal that sees the Boston-based FSG‚ who also own baseball behemoths the Red Sox‚ set for a £1.65billion payout. The consortium is led by former Queens Park Rangers supremo Amit Bhatia‚ with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos also indirectly involved - though the third-richest man in the world will not have a seat on the board.
LEWIS STEELE: Liverpool's owner Fenway Sports Group is close to selling one third of the Premier League giants to a billionaire boys' club featuring the owners of Amazon and Facebook. Daily Mail Sport reported three weeks ago that a consortium led by Amit Bhatia‚ the former co-owner of Championship side Queens Park Rangers‚ were serious and confident of buying a stake of around 30 per cent for roughly £1.35billion. And now sources indicate the process is ticking along nicely‚ with suggestions it could be rubber-stamped in the next week.
