Enzo Fernandez's agent has branded the Chelsea midfielder's two-match ban by his club 'completely unfair' and cast serious doubt over the player's future at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were angered by Fernandez appearing to advocate for a move to European rivals Real Madrid during the international break. Liam Rosenior said 'a line was crossed' and the club have taken the drastic action of banning their own player for games against Port Vale and Man City.

On Match of the Day the wonderfully enthusiastic Jonathan Pearce declared the FA Cup as the greatest cup competition in the world and after weekends like this one‚ it feels as though he is right. In keeping with the story of this season's cup‚ intrigue‚ upset‚ controversy and‚ most importantly‚ excitement all featured as the grand old competition showed the best of itself at places like Vale Park‚ Field Mill‚ the Racecourse Ground and Craven Cottage. The performance of the last sixteen came from Port Vale who‚ after knocking out Sunderland‚ have now won more cup games this season - seven - than they have in League One - six - where they currently sit bottom. CIARAN FOREMAN AT VALE PARK: For the Sunderland fans that had made the pilgrimage from the north-east to Vale Park‚ the clock had gone back all day. After arriving in the Potteries‚ the supporters crammed into cafes and pubs and spoke of 1937 and 1973‚ when their club enjoyed some of their greatest days under the Wembley sun. But there was no Jimmy Montgomery or Bob Stokoe to save the day this time. Instead‚ the Black Cats were dragged back to the not-so-distant days when they themselves were languishing in League One‚ and fell to a stunning defeat at the hands of third-tier basement boys Port Vale. Not only was the ignominy of being knocked out by Vale bad enough for Regis Le Bris' side‚ the deciding goal came from Ben Waine‚ the headband-wearing New Zealander who supports Sunderland's bitter rivals Newcastle. He was not shy in paying tribute to Alan Shearer in celebration.
